In an abundance of caution over the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, MITRE's annual Science and Engineering Day is cancelled for 2020. We regret that prudence dictates this decision and thank those many volunteers who have dedicated so much time already in preparation for this year. We will be turning our attention to planning for 2021 and will post a date as soon as we make a decision. We look forward to seeing you at next year's SED event.
All payments by credit card have been refunded and should show on your account in 5 to 10 days.
Any checks we are receiving will be returned uncashed.
If your child is a Boy Scout that will have aged out by next year and wanted to complete a Science or Engineering Merit Badge, please send an email to James Holdener ( email@example.com ) and ask to pursue one or two merit badges. He will do his best to accommodate your child using remote (phone) counselling until the outbreak subsides. This applies to all badges except Dentistry. If your child is a Girl Scout and finds herself in a similar situation, please send an email to Asma Abuzaakouk (firstname.lastname@example.org). She will do her best to accommodate your child using remote (phone) contact until the outbreak subsides. This applies to all areas except Dentistry.
MITRE Scout Engineering Day was pioneered in 2012 at the headquarters of The MITRE Corporation in the Washington, DC area. Each year since its inception, Scout Engineering Day has hosted between 300 to 500 Scouts and 70 to 150 Scouters, Merit Badge Counselors and volunteers for an exciting day of STEM activities. We look forward to welcoming your Scout to this year's event!
